The Shia Imams, who had realized the threat of the Umayyads against Islam, used their entire potential to confront them since the beginning of their existence. The military activities of Imam Ali, Imam Hasan, and Imam Hossein against the Umayyads had aimed for this. The tragedy of Karbala was enough to disqualify the Umayyads as legitimate Islamic governors.
