Sailors, rowers and swimmers in a pretty Victorian seaside resort face being left high and dry in a bizarre legal dispute over who owns an ancient slipway.<br/><br/>For more than a century boats have been launched off the 500ft-long slipway at Clevedon, North Somerset, and into the waters of the Bristol Channel.<br/><br/>But the sight of sailboats and racing gig boats could become a thing of the past as the 140-year-old slipway risks being washed away unless vital repairs are made.<br/><br/>The local council will not accept ownership, which has passed through several now-defunct authorities since it was built for Victorian pleasure boaters in 1884.<br/> <br/>North Somerset Council (NSC) insisted it 'only owned a few' feet of it when first approached about repair work in 2016.<br/><br/>Eight years on there is still no solution and local groups including Clevedon Sailing Club (CSC) are becoming increasingly concerned about its state of disrepair. <br/><br/>The top surface is already pitted with potholes and CSC want the NSC to accept ownership and fund repairs which could cost up to £200,000.<br/><br/>This week NSC is set to divert cash earmarked for repairs to pay for work to 'row back' Clevedon's controversial £1.3m 'wobbly lanes' road scheme which hit the headlines last year.<br/><br/>CSC commodore Mark Elliott is concerned that sections of the ageing slipway could be soon be washed away in storms and be lost to the community forever.<br/><br/>His concerns have been backed by local MP Sir Liam Fox.<br/><br/>Mr Elliott said: \

The QX80 literally keeps passengers cool with Biometric Cooling; Infrared sensors in the headliner detect when someone is hot and automatically adjust personal climate settings. Heated and cooled seats also help with this up front, and in the new QX80 you'll find heated seats well behind the third row. Massage seats are available for second-row passengers, and everyone can take advantage of the 24-speaker, 1,200-watt Klipsch audio system. This is optional on all but the top-end Autograph trim, but the standard system is still a 600-watt, 14-speaker trim.<br/><br/>Infiniti InTouch with Google Built-in runs the show. Wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is standard, and a number of Infiniti driver assistance and safety systems that came with ProPilot 1.1 are upgraded to ProPilot 2.1, and you get hands-free driving in certain situations. There's also an optional head-up display for the first time.<br/><br/>The old 5.6-liter V-8 engine is gone, replaced by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. That's a notable increase over the V-8, and it sends power to either the rear wheels or all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Infiniti says the body-on-frame structure has 57 percent more lateral stiffness than the outgoing model, and when equipped with air suspension, the QX80 lowers itself 1.2 inches at higher speed for better efficiency. When parked, it can drop 2.8 inches to help people get in and out.<br/><br/>The QX80 has five driving modes that make the most of the power boost: Standard, Eco, Sport, Snow and Towing. If none of these suit your taste, there's a sixth mode for custom settings. Speaking of personalization, you can adjust the interior lighting with 64 colors shining through the LED lights in the doors and dashboard. Nine exterior colors are available at launch and you can choose wheels up to 22 inches in size. If you need to tow, the QX80 weighs 8,500 pounds.<br/><br/>The new QX80 is definitely more expensive than the previous model; significantly more in top-spec Autograph guise. By comparison, the BMW X7 fits right into the Infiniti's price range.
