Behind the Yellow Line, also known as Fate, is a 1984 Hong Kong romantic comedy film directed by Taylor Wong and starring Leslie Cheung Kwok-wing (張國榮), Maggie Cheung Man-yuk (張曼玉), and Anita Mui Yim-fong (梅艷芳).<br/><br/>Leslie Cheung is Paul Chan, a mild mannered guy starting a new job and taking care of his mom and dad. He catches a glimpse of a pretty girl named Monica (Maggie Cheung) at the MTR station - and it's love at first sight. But she's going through a tough breakup with her boyfriend, Ben (湯鎮宗 Tong Chun-chung), a married man, who's also her lecherous boss. She does get over it and the two become a couple. But not only does her ex's return, Paul is constantly interrupted by a perky rich girl Anita (Anita Mui), who spends lots of money on him, is annoying, but is just looking for company. This strains Paul and Monica's quest for love, but finally she puts Paul to a test, once again at the MTR station.
